In the morning, we'll visit the Potala Palace, the world's highest ancient palace-style complex, which served as the residence of Dalai Lamas and the epicenter of political and religious authority in Tibet. Before reaching the Potala Palace, you'll need to ascend over 1080 steps. While the climb might be a bit taxing, the breathtaking views overlooking the entire city of Lhasa will make you forget any fatigue! In the afternoon, we'll explore the sacred Jokhang Temple, revered by Tibetan Buddhists. This architectural masterpiece blends Tibetan, Tang, Nepalese, and Indian styles, standing as a timeless symbol of Tibetan religious architecture. After our visit to the Jokhang Temple, you can leisurely stroll around it in a clockwise direction, browse the handicraft market on Barkhor Street, or simply wander the streets, basking in the warmth of the Sunlight City. Alternatively, you can find a charming tea house and immerse yourself in the leisurely lifestyle of Tibetan friends.

As the morning unfolds in Lhasa, you have the choice to either rise early for a leisurely stroll along the banks of the Lhasa River or to wake up naturally. Following breakfast, you'll accompany the guide to explore Drepung Monastery, one of the six major Gelugpa monasteries in Tibetan Buddhism. Notably, at the end of June and beginning of July in the Tibetan calendar, the renowned Shoton Festival, featuring a grand Buddha exhibition ceremony, takes place here. In the afternoon, we'll visit Sera Monastery, another of the six major Gelugpa monasteries. The name "Sera" means "wild rose" in Tibetan, and according to legend, the area around the monastery was once covered with wild roses. The monastery is particularly famed for its debating courtyard, situated north of the main entrance. Typically, debates commence around 3:00 PM and are open for public viewing. After exploring Sera Monastery, take a leisurely stroll through the streets of Lhasa, quietly absorbing the deep-rooted faith of the Tibetan people.

Lhasa—Yamdrok Lake—Karola Glacier—Gyantse— Shigatse

Today is not a day to linger in bed. After breakfast, we will leave Lhasa and cross the 4,900-meter-high Gangbala Pass, heading towards the world's highest freshwater lake, Yamdrok Lake. Renowned as one of the most beautiful lakes globally, Yamdrok Lake mesmerizes with its azure waters blending seamlessly with distant snow-capped mountains, creating a breathtaking sight. As we drive around Yamdrok Lake, we'll pass by the Karola Glacier, featured in the movie "Red River Valley." Continuing our journey, we'll arrive in Gyantse, a historic town with over 600 years of history, serving as a crucial transportation hub. Here, we'll visit Pelkhor Choede, the only monastery in Tibet combining the three major Tibetan Buddhist sects, renowned for its exquisite murals and carvings. Then, we'll drive to Tibet's second-largest city, Shigatse.

Shigatse—Tingri—Rongbuk Monastery—Everest Base Camp

In the morning, we'll embark on a car journey towards Everest Base Camp, passing through the towns of Lazi and Dingri. Along the way, we'll make a stop at Xegar, where you can marvel at the majestic sight of Mount Everest from a distance. Our next destination is the world's highest monastery, Rongbuk Monastery, offering the most breathtaking view of Everest. From there, we'll continue towards Everest Base Camp, where you can get up close to the world's tallest peak, standing at an altitude of 8,848 meters. In the evening, we'll camp in the tent area at Everest Base Camp. As night falls and the earth is cloaked in darkness, you can step outside your tent to relish the pristine moonlight and the dazzling starry stars.

【Kindly Reminder】 Mount Everest stands at an altitude of 5200 meters, and it's normal to experience headaches and difficulty sleeping at night. Please don't panic excessively, as this is a common occurrence. Instead, try to slow down your pace, relax, and take in the beauty of Everest. The symptoms will gradually ease over time.

Everest Base Camp—Tingri—Shigatse

Regardless of whether you had a peaceful night's rest or struggled to sleep, it's crucial to wake up early to witness the sunrise over Mount Everest. As the first light illuminates the peak of Mount Everest, traverse the majestic and breathtaking Himalayas, winding through serene and desolate landscapes, and ascending the 5200-meter-high Gauwala Pass. In addition to the iconic Mount Everest towering at 8848 meters above sea level, the surrounding area showcases other snow-capped peaks such as Lhakpa Ri (7367 meters), Cho Oyu (8201 meters), Lhotse (8516 meters), and Makalu (8463 meters), forming an impressive collection of world-class summits. Be awestruck by the grandeur and solemnity of Mount Shishapangma (8012 meters), the only peak in China with an altitude exceeding 8000 meters entirely within its borders. With a lingering admiration for Mount Everest, return to Shigatse amidst the majestic and awe-inspiring Himalayan landscape.

After breakfast, we'll visit Tashilhunpo Monastery, one of the six major Gelug monasteries and the resting place of the soul of the Panchen Lama. Throughout history, it has been the residence of successive Panchen Lamas. Inside the monastery, you'll find the world's largest sitting Buddha, the Maitreya Buddha, made of copper.Then return to Lhasa. Take your time on the journey back, slow down, and stop at the Yarlung River Valley. Stand quietly in the cradle of ancient Tibetan civilization, letting the rivers, icebergs, pastoral fields, riverbanks, valleys, and mountain vegetation—all visible under the crystal-clear sky—create a serene and picturesque scene.

Namtso—Lhasa

In the early morning, take a car through the vast grasslands of northern Tibet, experiencing the fluttering of colorful prayer flags and riding along the Qinghai-Tibet Highway. Cross over the 5190-meter-high Nagqu La Mountain to reach the first of Tibet's three sacred lakes, Namtso Lake, at an altitude of 4718 meters. It is the highest saltwater lake in the world and the second largest in China. To the south lies the perennially snow-capped Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains, while the north and west sides feature plateau hills, vast lake shores, and grasslands surrounding the lake. The lake has a high salt content, and the area is rich in wildlife resources, including yaks, goats, and wild birds. In the evening, return to Lhasa accompanied by the glow of the setting sun.

All vehicles used are regular licensed tourist buses, fully equipped with official documentation, ensuring one seat per person.
Accommodation:
Accommodation throughout the trip will be in standard international hotels. However, due to limited facilities at Mt Everest and Namtso , accommodation will be provided in local guesthouses or tent lodgings without breakfast. Shared rooms without en-suite bathrooms will be provided, and multiple occupants may share a single room.
Meals:
Breakfast is provided buy the hotel, lunch and dinner are self-responsible.
Tickets:
The package includes admission tickets to all attractions listed in the itinerary. The total cost for all tickets amounts to 1054 yuan.
Insurance:
Travel agency liability insurance; vehicle seat insurance.

Fee Does Not Include:

  1. Full-board cost: Since this tour is a group tour and the dining environment along the way may not be ideal, meals are not included (except for breakfast at the hotel; guesthouses do not include breakfast). Participants are responsible for their own meals, which typically range from 30 to 60 yuan per person per meal. Our guide will assist you in finding the best dining options suited to your preferences.
  2. Round-trip transportation: Transportation from the departure location to Lhasa and back is not included (booking service provided).
  3. Personal expenses: These include expenses such as hotel laundry fees, telephone charges, excess baggage fees, beverages during meals, and optional activities such as the Yangpachen hot spring (30-60 yuan), horseback riding at Namtso Lake, and boat rides at Basong Lake.
  4. Other expenses: Any additional costs incurred due to unforeseen circumstances such as natural disasters, strikes, wars, flight delays or cancellations, visa delays, etc.
  5. Tipping for Foreign Visitors: :Each person must pay a tip of no less than 30 yuan to the driver and no less than 30 yuan to the guide per day.
