Planning to Travel Directly from Nepal to Tibet? Here’s How to Get from Kathmandu to the Gyirong border

There are three transportation options from Kathmandu to Gyirong Port:
🚁Helicopter:
Cost: $100 per person
Duration: About 20 minutes to reach the border
🚙Shared Car:
Cost: Approximately $20 per person
Vehicle: SUV with five or six people
Departure Time: Around 2 AM
🚌Public Bus:
Bus Station:
Dhading Bus Park, search on Google Maps
Fare: 1030 NPR
Departure Times: 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM
Ticket Purchase: You can buy tickets on the morning of your departure. Arrive at the bus station about half an hour before departure to buy your ticket.
 Note:
The bus ride is quite long, and you will likely arrive at the border around 2 or 3 PM. Due to the time difference, the Chinese border will already be closed, so you will need to stay overnight at the Nepalese border (if you are in a hurry and need to cross the border the same day, do not take the bus).
